The brand Koepfer is now a world reference in all areas associated with the gear wheel. This manufacturer is indeed known for its know-how in the design of high-performance machine tools used to produce ultra high precision gear teeth. The founding of the German company Koepfer dates back to nearly 150 years. It is, indeed, in 1867 that Josef Koepfer opened a small workshop in Rößleplatz, in the town of Furtwangen (southwest Germany), where he began by making tools dedicated for the clock industry, including mills. Its product range then gradually diversified, including, for example, drills and various other tools for the clock industry. In 1901, his four sons joined the company, thus forming now Jos. Koepfer&Söhne. It had a staff of nearly one hundred employees when the First World War started. This first global conflict, then the second, significantly slowed down the activity of the group, which did not regain its full power until the 1950s. In 1955, Koepfer could finally present its new machine: the model 150. Later, in the 1960s and 1970s, the German company began to offer machines and equipment of larger sizes. It opened its first production site abroad in 1986 in the United States. A second site off-Germany opened in 1995 in Hungary. In 2003, KoepferVerzahnungsmaschinenGmbH left its Furtwangen premises and joined its new facilities in the nearby town of Schwenningen. Since 2005, Koepfer is part of the EMAG Group, along with other big names like Reinecker, Karstens, Kopp, and Naxos-Union. Today Koepfer continues to develop and manufacture milling machines for the production of high precision gear teeth at its Schwenningen site. In this field, the machine tools of the type generation gear cutter dubbed Koepfer are highly valued by professionals. The German manufacturer supplies its equipment to customers worldwide. Its customers consist mainly of gearmotors manufacturers, major stakeholders in the automotive industry, and electronic tools designers. The Koepfer second-hand machine tools that go through RDMO workshops are carefully checked to offer the highest quality level.
