A major worldwide manufacturer of CNC lathes, the INDEX Group owns six production sites, several ones dedicated to the distribution and after-sale services, as well as eighty offices worldwide. Founded in 1914 by Hermann Hahn, this German company based in Esslingen has quickly made up a large clientele thanks to its turret lathes. Since 1975, INDEX is also famous for the quality of its multispindle lathes and later its CNC machine tools. INDEX are also highly reliable models and remarkably modular turning/milling centers since the early 1990s. During the same decade the company TRAUB Drehmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG went in the lap of INDEX to become an independent subsidiary of the group. Today, both brands make one of the leading global stakeholders in the sector of machine tools designed for turning operations. The equipments produced by the INDEX group and its subsidiary TRAUB are used in many countries and in various industrial domains: automotive, mechanical engineering, electronics, plumbing, medical technology, aerospace, aeronautics... The machine tools manufactured by the German company have an excellent reputation on the second-hand market, where they are famous for their robustness, their level of performance and technology, as well as their reliability. Fully checked in RDMO workshops, they offer almost the same quality as the new models. So to speak, the INDEX group has always put first research and development activities. One tenth of INDEX employees work in the R&D branch which continuously makes the company technologically ahead of many of its competitors. The range of INDEX turning machine tools includes different models:CNC lathes, CNC vertical lathes, single-spindle lathes, multiple-spindle lathes, CNC multiple-spindle lathes, turning/milling centers, and turning and grinding centers.
